Some very good reviews about ‘Paterson’ generated great expectations on me, but I found the film a bit boring and inconsequential. Although the movie is not exactly bad, it gives the impression that something is missing in its plot. During 113 minutes the only relevant fact is a dog eating Paterson’s note book.
Paterson is a bus driver in the city of Paterson (New Jersey) and also a loving husband and poet, who finds inspiration in his ordinary life for his poems.
In my opinion, Jim Jarmusch, as a director, and Adam Driver, performing the main character, get a unique goal: explain how literary creation takes place.
